Sunthi (Ginger/Zingiber officinale) finds a lot of mention in Ayurveda as a digestive aid. It is a herb that prevent formation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract and facilitates the expulsion of said gas, thereby combating flatulence. Thus it is majorly used in cases of indigestion. It also reduces inflammation and thus is very beneficial in cases of arthritis. It is largely found in the South East Asia region which has warm climatic conditions.
